Opening a Dispute

Either party in a transaction may open a dispute within 14 days of the transaction date. Disputes can be opened from your disputes dashboard. Late disputes may be denied.

Eligible Dispute Types
  • Item not received
  • Item damaged on arrival
  • Item not as described
  • Late return (rentals)
  • Payment issue
  • Safety concern
  • Other
Resolution Process

Once a dispute is opened, MyCameraBags will review the case within 3 business days. Both parties may be asked to provide evidence (photos, messages, tracking information). MyCameraBags's decision is final.

Possible Outcomes
  • Resolved – Refunded: Buyer receives a full or partial refund. Seller payout is reversed accordingly.
  • Resolved – No Refund: Transaction stands. Seller payout is released.
  • Resolved – Other: Partial resolution, replacement, or other outcome as determined by MyCameraBags.
Payout Holds During Disputes

Seller payouts for transactions under active dispute are held until the dispute is resolved. This ensures funds are available if a refund is warranted.

Abuse of Disputes

Filing disputes in bad faith or repeatedly abusing the dispute system may result in account restrictions or suspension.
